We specialise in qualitative and mixed methods research, and have particular expertise with NVivo and SPSS. As our company name suggests, we primarily work with researchers from the university sector, but we have clients from a range of other areas including the non-for-profit, government and corporate sectors. We work with clients who have a range of experience levels, from novices through to experienced researchers, and enjoy helping researchers achieve the best possible outcomes for their research. Whether you’re based in New Zealand or elsewhere in the world, contact us to find out how we can help with your research needs.
If you’re interested in learning more about us, there’s a blog post about our company history that you might find interesting (while you’re there, check out our other blog posts on a range of research topics). Director
Lyn established Academic Consulting in 1999 following a successful career in the tertiary sector. Her PhD was in educational psychology, specifically examining the area of self-regulated learning. She’s originally a quantitative researcher, but now mostly works on qualitative or mixed methods projects. Lyn believes that all research approaches have their place in the complex world we live in, and that it is important to select and work with research methods and methodologies that best suit the question at hand. Her love of teaching and education, alongside her flexible teaching style and engaging sense of humour, contribute to an outstanding reputation as a training facilitator. As anyone who has worked with Lyn will know, she is incredibly enthusiastic about research and data analysis software – she is an NVivo Platinum Certified Trainer and has previously trained for SPSS NZ.
