I've upgraded to SPSS 16/PASW 17 and now can't open my output viewer files from an earlier version - how can I view these?

Answer

Up until version 15, PASW (SPSS) used *.spo as a file extension for its output files. From version 16 onwards the file extension became *.spv which is why output from earlier versions can't be opened in the later versions. In order to read earlier output files you can download and install the 'Legacy Viewer' which can be downloaded from the SPSS website.
