Certainly! PDFs or notes typed in MS Word can be imported into the 'Internals' folder and books etc. can be represented as externals. Bibliographic information can also be imported from EndNote, Zotero and RefWorks. Working with PDFs has significantly improved in NVIVO 9.1, which makes the software even more useful when conducting literature reveiws.
