Academic Consulting has an excellent track record for providing high-quality transcription services. We specialise in research transcription, and are well-attuned to the specific transcription requirements of researchers. Advantages of using our service include:
- All transcripts are charged by the length of the recording time, not how long it takes us to complete the work. This means that there are no nasty surprises when the bill arrives, and that you know exactly how much to request when applying for grants. Further information regarding pricing can be found in our information sheets below.
- Transcripts can be provided in a suitable format for import into QSR NVivo.
- All transcripts are quality controlled by a second staff member before being returned.
- All Academic Consulting staff are well versed in issues concerning confidentiality, and have clauses in their contracts that assure information is kept in confidence. We are also happy to sign Confidentiality Agreements for your research projects.
- All data files (both recordings and transcripts) are stored in a secure environment.
Booking and Turn-Around Time
If you wish to book a transcription job, please download and return our Booking Form. If you require an urgent turn-around please let us know when making your booking, and we will advise whether it is possible. We accept all standard digital audio recording formats and micro-cassette tapes.
Digital recordings can be delivered to us by:
- CD/DVD and delivered in person or sent by courier
- A file transfer facility provided by your institution (e.g. The University of Auckland’s Web Dropoff Box at https://webdropoff.auckland.ac.nz)
- Academic Consulting’s Internet transfer facility (contact us for an account)
Please do not email us recordings as the file size is often extremely large.
We prefer micro-cassette tapes to be delivered to us in person where at all possible (unless a back-up copy of the recording has been made before sending by mail or courier).
